According to the results of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 19 percent of adults had tried losing weight within the previous 12 months between 2013 and 2016. Most tried exercising and eating less food, consuming healthier foods, drinking extra water, and eating less junk food and fast food. The majority of dieters in the survey reported using two or more methods of losing weight.
